Moonrise

The river flows calmly

Obscurity embraces quietly

Tell me how you feel

Do you hear the crickets whispering into the dark?

Talk to me

Is that your broken heart walking with heavy steps?

Is that your hurt voice wailing into the night?

Nightfall

I can see you stumbling across the black

Your soul has become so brittle

And your eyes aren't adjusted to the low light

The moon wants to hear about your fears

I want to know about your pain

The tree is just trying to hold you

Do you listen to that?

It's the silence you require

The stillness you asked for

The halcyon days you wished upon

Just let it out

Midnight

I can see you shedding those tears you've been locking away

I can listen to that heartbreak you've been running away from

I can feel the heavy burden you carry around everywhere you go

Let me caress your face in silence

Let the river wash away your tears

Let the wind blow your fears into the night

Breathe deeply

Look into that far light

Enjoy the silence

Wave goodbye to those shooting stars
