The Last Moon
This is the last moon
At least for this life
Here endeth the road
There is only one light still aglow
Everything must end
There is no tomorrow
The river died
The wind halted
A minute of silence
For those loves that failed
For those goals not achieved
For every lost battle
For every tear shed
Say goodbye to your hopes
Say farewell to your desires
Relinquish your dreams
Let your feelings go
Everything must end
There's nothing else after this
Everybody lies
Everybody dies
The sun died
The heart stopped
Our interior froze
What was green withered away
Where did those plans lead us?
What did we get out of those friendships?
Where are those "I love you"?
And those hands that promised never to let go
Only silence remains
With its all-consuming vacuum
Only solitude remains
Ironic and perennial company
Everybody lies
Everybody leaves
Everybody destroys
Everybody dies
So, without anything left to lose
Wield the knife of indifference
Pierce your chest with it
Carve that hole
Rip out your black heart
The one that nothing wants, the one that nothing feels
Raise it to the sky in sacrifice
Put it out of its misery, put an end to its desolation
There's nothing left to lose
Nothing left to fear
Only thing left is to lie down
And maybe, with some luck, return
Light dims out
Shadows propagate
Everything must end
Everybody must die
The wolf goes silent
The cold razes
The path closes
The air grows thin
This was the last moon
At least for this life
I don't know what lies beyond
All I know is that here there are no more glowing lights
